酷暑試験 実施中 Heat Resistance Test

毎日猛暑が続き、関東から北では台風の被害もありましたが、いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

ハウス内の作業は更に過酷な環境。皆様どうか、お体にお気をつけください！

It's been extremely hot everyday, and there was also a typhoon attack in east and north part of Japan recently.

Working in greenhouse is even harder.  Please be careful of heat stroke and take care of your selves!

ただいま中村農園は、入荷・納品ともに物流の多い繁忙期真っ最中。

毎日日本全国へ球根の発送と、高知県内は男性社員が総出で納品に出かけています。

Now we are in the middle of the busiest season in a year for both arrival and delivery.

There are a lot of shipping to all over Japan, and men staffs themselves deliver the cases driving trucks for delivery in Kochi Prefecture everyday.

そんな中、弊社ロットハウスでは、文字通り「酷暑試験」を実施中です。

8月末にはいくつかの品種は開花をする予定です。

南国土佐の暑い環境での栽培試験。

お客様へのよりよい品種のご提案につながるような、有益なデータが採れることを期待し、試験ハウスチームが頑張っています。

We are doing "Heat Resistance Test" in our lot test greenhouse in this very hot season.

Some varieties will bloom by the end of August.

The summer condition here in Kochi is suitable for this kind of trial.

We hope that we can get interesting data which will be useful for our customers.

オランダから研修生が来ています。 A trainee from Holland visiting Kochi

海の日で３連休。高知は３日ともお天気に恵まれ、行楽日和となりました。
梅雨明けも間もなくでしょうか。
July18th is a national holiday (Marine Day), and this 3-day holiday in Kochi has been good weather for summer outing.


さて、先週から、オランダから研修生が高知に来て、切花生産の現場を勉強しています。
私たちの大きな取引先である、オランダ ヤン・デ・ウィット社の社長ご子息　アドリアンさんです。
Now a trainee from Holland, Mr. Adriaan de Wit who is the son of Jan de Wit en Zonen B.V.'s president, is visiting Kochi to study Japan's cut flower production.

弊社がある長浜地区の、切花生産者様のところで研修をしています。

弊社の試験ハウスでも、ハウス作業やルーティング作業を一緒に頑張ってくれました。
He is studying at a forcer's place near our office.
He helped our test greenhouse's work too.


日本語の勉強も熱心です。
いつも小さなノートを持ち歩き、新しい日本語を聞いては、言葉と意味をメモメモ・・・
（どうか弊社社員が変な日本語を教えませんように。）
Adriaan also studies Japanese language very hard.
He always takes a small notebook with him and take notes every time he hears new words.
(Hope he won't learn many strange Japanese from Nakamura-Noen's "nice" staffs...)


彼にとっては高知は相当暑いかもしれません。
彼ももちろんみなさまも、熱中症などにはくれぐれもお気をつけください！
Kochi must be too hot for Adriaan.
Please, not only Adriaan, but also all of you take care not to get heat stroke!

日の本の取引始まる！ Hinomoto starts

おかげさまでゆりフェスタも無事終わり、これから１年で最も物流の多いシーズンに入っていきます。
Lily Festa 2016 ended, and we'll run in the busiest season of both delivery and arrival from now.


その皮切りに始まるのが、日の本の取引。
今年もはるばる沖永良部島から、日の本の球根がやってきます。
今日はその記念すべき第１便の到着！
Beginning of the season, Hinomoto business starts first.
Hinomoto bulbs come in all the way from Oki no Erabu Island.
We had the first arrival of Hinomoto today.


そして、屈強な男性社員が、各々作業用コスチュームをまとい、総出で荷降ろし！
Every time bulbs arrive, all the male staffs unload the cases all together.

こちらも中村農園の風物詩です。
This is Nakamura Noen's early summer scene.


大変な荷降ろし作業が終わった途端に、ざんざん降りの雨が。
間一髪、空も作業の手伝いをしてくれたみたいです。
Once the staffs finished unloading, the heavy rain started to fall.
It seems that the sky also helped our hard work.


来週からは社員が永良部に駐在し、どんどん日の本球根が運ばれてくる予定です。
One of our staffs will stay in Erabu from next week and more bulbs will arrive.


日本各地で、不安定な気候により被害が出ています。
被害に遭われている方々には心からお見舞いを申し上げますとともに、
みなさまどうか、お気をつけてお過ごしください。
The weather is bad and unstable in all over Japan, and big damages to people's lives are occurring in some areas.
We'd like to express our deepest sympathy to people who are suffering from the disaster.
We hope that the situation will be better soon.

　平素は格別のご高配を賜り、心より御礼申し上げます。

　6月9-12日の4日間 開催致しました「ゆりフェスタ2016 in 中村農園」は、おかげ様で、全国から多くの切花生産者の皆様にお越しいただき、20社を超える花市場様、さらに仲卸・花店の皆様のご来場もあり、地味に収穫の多いイベントであったと感じています。

　ゆりフェスタの特徴の一つである「一斉同時開花」は、500品目が期間中に96％の開花となり、ご来場者がうっとり（うんざり？）するくらい、品種チェックに時間を要されたとは思いますが、それだけの品種数を同一環境で開花させるため、発色の違いや退色、上向き度合などが比較しやすくなっています。

アンケートにご協力いただいた皆様、ありがとうございます。ひとつひとつ読ませていただきました。うれしかったコメントを少しご紹介いたします。

―見た瞬間に「うわっ、かわいい！」と思った品種でした。

―人気品種パネルのニーズ分布図がとても参考になりました。

―手ぬぐいが可愛かったです。

―花の香りと色に心が癒されました。

（アンケートの集計結果は、間もなくご報告できる予定です。）

ハウスでゆっくりお話しできたのも今年のゆりフェスタの良かったところで、特に花に携わるお仕事の方からのお話は、いずれも球根会社にとって目からうろこでした。花店の女性（20代40代）からは「これはブライダルに使える！」、市場の方からは「トルコの代替に使える」など、興味深いアイデアも聞かせていただきました！（実際、台頭する若い花屋さんは斬新なアイデアを売りにしているらしい）

　きっと業界の先生からは、素人は何もわかってないですね(笑)、って一蹴されてしまうことかもしれませんが、フェスタ＝お祭りのご愛嬌ということでお許し下さい。

　最後に、第10回 ゆりフェスタ開催に当りご協力頂きました皆様に、心より御礼申し上げます。ありがとうございました。

 Thank you for your continuous cooperation.

 Thanks to your support, Lily Festa 2016 in Nakamura-Noen ended a great success.  Many cut flower forcers from all over Japan, more than 20 auctions, and also many intermediate wholesalers and florists visited this event.  We believe that there were many good meetings and exchanges during this festival.

 The most special feature of Lily Festa, “500 items blooming at same time”, ended up 96% of blooming rate, and we guess that the visitors were fascinated by (or tired of) each flower taking long time to check them.  This is a good trial that we can easily compare many varieties in same condition, and see the differences of color fading, direction of flowers, and so on.

 We appreciate all of you who answered the questionnaires at the event.  I read every sheet, and I’d like to introduce some comments which made us happy.

- “I thought ‘Oh, how pretty!’ as soon as I looked at the variety.”

- The board showing popular varieties in each group (forcers, auctions, florists…etc) was very interesting.

- Beautiful scents and colors of lilies soothed my heart.

 The good point of this year’s Lily Festa was that there was plenty of time to talk seeing the lilies in the greenhouse.  The opinions from people in flower industries were very useful for us.  They told us what kind of varieties is good for weddings, varieties which can be alternative of Eustoma, and other interesting ideas.  We hear that some young florists are growing with their innovative ideas.

 To conclude this article, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the people who helped us hold the 10^th Lily Festa for their support.

ゆりフェスタ2016まであと23日 23 days to Lily Festa 2016

ゆりフェスタまで残り1ヵ月を切りました。会場となる試験農場では500品目・10000本が、順調に生育しております。

Finally we have less than 1 month until Lily Festa 2016.  10000 lilies of 500 items are growing well in our test greenhouse.

現在はもちろんオールグリーンのハウスですが、約3週間後、ここが虹のように(*)彩られるのを社員も楽しみにしています。

The greenhouse is “green” at this moment of course, but we ourselves are looking forward to seeing the colorful greenhouse like a rainbow 3 weeks later.  (There are no blue varieties yet so we hope to have blue color with sunny sky.)

さて、そんな弊社ハウスは、そう！これから切前の見頃を迎えるわけです。ゆりフェスタでは『一斉開花』をお楽しみいただきたいわけですが、開催前までは500品目の『一斉切前』をご覧いただけたらと思います。

もちろん、本ＨＰ内『試験栽培データ』でも、随時写真をアップデートしております。

It will be the best timing to check the preharvest stage of 500 items before the event.  We are sure that this is interesting as well as 500 items blooming at one time.  You can also see the photos and test data on our web site as usual.

6月のイベント開催に向けて、ゆりフェスタ実行委員が年明けから準備に取り組んでいます。
Our project team has been preparing for this event since January.


今年はどんな「ゆりフェスタ」にしよう。お客様が求めているものは何だろう。
全国から来てくださるお客様を、どのようにおもてなししよう。
How do we make this year's Lily Festa?  What do our customers want?
How do we want to entertain the visitors from not only all Japan, but also overseas?


みんなで知恵を出しあい検討し、
6月に近づくにつれ、イベントの具体的な内容がどんどん決まっていきます。
The project team staffs gather their opinions,
and the contents of the event are being decided day by day.


イベントのご案内状を作成し、関係者の皆様にお送りしています。
準備が進み催しの詳細が決まっていくのに合わせて、内容を変えて何回かお送りしますが、どうか「しつこい」だなんて思わないで…！
いかにフェスタが内容盛りだくさんなのか、少しでも早くお伝えしたいのです！

どろんこ祭りがやってきた Doronko Festival

今日は弊社の地元ネタを。

Today's topic is about our local festival.

弊社があります高知市長浜地区では、4月の第一土・日・月曜日に「どろんこ祭り」という伝統的な行事が行われます。

これは、同地区内にある「若宮八幡宮」の儀式田にて田植えをする「お田植え」を奉納し、無病息災を願うという、県内でも有名なお祭りです。

There is a famous traditional festival "Doronko-Matsuri" in our home area Nagahama.

People do rice-planting in the special rice field in the shrine, and pray for the health and safety.

祭りの初日に「お田植え」が行われ、その後地区内で行われるのが「泥ぬり」。

伝統的な着物の衣装を着た子どもさん・女性たちが各所をめぐり、男性の顔に泥をぬります。

泥をぬられた男性は、その夏病気をしないとか。とってもありがたい泥なのです。

Rice-planting is done on the first day of 3-day-festival.

After that, children and ladies wearing traditional kimono costumes go around to paint the mud from rice field on men's faces in the local area.

It is said that the men who got mud on their faces won't get sick in the coming summer.

今年も弊社の事務所にも寄っていただき、男性社員にありがたい「泥ぬり」をしていただきました。

Every year the people visit our office and our male staffs receive the special mud.
