社屋から歩いてすぐの圃場に今年の２月に植えた養成球を
いよいよ掘り取る時がやってきました。
It is October, the time we dig up the bulbs grown in Kochi has come.
As you know, we planted them in new field near our office last February.
Now is its harvest time.
何段階かにわけて掘り取りますが、
第一弾の今回は、「シーラ」と「カサブランカ」。
We will dig up them in several times according to the purpose, depend on the variety, and this first time was for Sheila & Casa Blanca.
何度か試し掘りをしていたものの、
全体的にはどのくらいきちんと生育しているか
ドキドキしながら、球根たちとのご対面です。
We did trial diggings for several times, but we were actually a bit anxious until we see all bulbs.
トラクターで掘り起した後に、茎と球根を手で切り離していきます。
大きさには差があり、肥れなかった球根もいますが、
大きく肥えた球根を手にするとテンションがあがりました。
After having dug them up by a tractor, we cut off each bulb's stem by hand.
These bulbs were different in size, some of them didn't grow well.
We were so excited when we got a pretty big one.
Everyone did it eagerly.
収穫した球根は、土を洗い流し、
After that, we washed these bulbs,
愛情を注入して、
poured our(his) love into them,
消毒液に浸すこと３０分。
and put them into disinfection liquid for a half hour.

その後、冷蔵保管をして、選別をします。
Disinfected bulbs were moved to our cooling storage and we sorted them.
傷などをチェックしてから選別機に載せて分類。
We removed damaged bulbs and put good bulbs on grading machine.
この後、パッキングしていきます。
Then, these sorted bulbs will be packed.

週末休みの前に、台風に備え、外に山積みになっている空のコンテナを移動する者が・・・。
入り口はあっという間にコンテナで覆われてしまいました。
台風18号は当地では大きな被害もなく通過しました。
皆様の地域でも被害がないことを祈っています。

For a typhoon, a person who likes driving a forklift moved many piled up empty containers outside to the entrance of our office before last weekend.
He has done it in a blink.
Fortunately, the Typhoon No.18 passed without heavy damage around here. We hope that there is not damage in your place too.
