そうです、開花写真当てクイズでお馴染み、Ｃ（右端）の川上が担当します。

私事ですが、昨日11月1日は息子の3歳の誕生日でした♪温室育ち？路地育ち？？の息子は、ご飯を驚くほど食べ、良く動き、良く喋り、朝はすぐ目覚めてしまい、あまり遅くまでは寝てくれないわんぱく小僧です。

最近では流行っているDA PUMPの「カ～モンベイビ～🎵アメリカ～🎵」を上手に歌い踊っており、そんな息子の可愛らしい姿や言動に、娘も含め家族全員が日々悶絶しております。

Well, yesterday, November 1st, was my son's 3rd birthday.  I'm not sure which can be said, he's grown in greenhouse or open field, but he eats a lot, moves a lot, and talks a lot.  He wakes up very early as he can't wait long in his bed.  

Recently, he likes to sing and dance on the latest pop song.  All other family members are having trouble of his too much cuteness.

さて、弊社試験ハウスでもたくさんの百合達が成長しておりますので、少しご紹介を！

The lilies which are taking care of like "our children" are growing in our greenhouse now.  I'd like to introduce some of them.

私が昔から好きな「パトス」。

The first is my favorite since long ago, "Pathos".

白のオリエンタルで、花は大き過ぎず、枝は長過ぎず、丈も長過ぎず。一番のお気に入りポイントは、花の美しさと花もちの良さです！

White Oriental, not too big flowers, and not too long branches or stems.  My biggest recommend points are the beauty of the flowers and its long life of cut flowers.

ＶＺ社の新品種「リバーダンス」

The next is Royal Van Zanten's new variety, "River Dance".

色はカナレット風の可愛いピンクで、抑制の最終的な出来栄えが気になるところ。

The color is soft pink like Canaletto, and we look forward to seeing the final result of the late forcing test.

なんなんだ？！この早さと、更にはこの花もちの良さは？！

What's this early and long life variety!?

定植して42日で咲いた極早生品種のサロニキ。これだけ早く咲くにも関わらず、花弁は強く、まだ日中は暖かく日差しの強い高知でもこの花もちの良さは驚きです！

This is a very early variety, Saloniki.  It bloomed in 42 days after planting.  Even though it grows so quickly, the petals are strong, and it's surprisingly long lasting even in Kochi of warm temperature and much sunshine in daytime.

一般の方から絶大な人気のあの子も開花が始まりました～☆彡

That variety which is the most popular among the general people has started to bloom as well.

可愛いオレンジの八重「タイニーダブルユー」。弊社イベント時に販売しても、毎回一番早くに完売になるのがこの品種！

Pretty orange double, "Tiny Double You".

When we sell this variety at our events for general people, this variety always get sold out earliest.

すくすくと育っている我が子達を是非見に来てください(^_-)-☆

やはり気になるのが鉄砲、LA、アジアティック品種から始まっているオランダ産球根の掘り取り状況です。

Our concern is the situation of Dutch crop's harvesting which has started from LA/Asiatic varieties.

肥大や芽の状態などは各エリアによって違うものの、オランダでは１０月の気温が高く、１０月２５日現在、例年に比べて掘り取りスケジュールがやや遅れる予想となっております。

The growth and sprout condition are different depends on the production areas, but in general, it is said to be later than usual years at this point because of warm weather in Holland in October.

中村農園の試験農場ですが、オリエンタル・OT品種は全体的に草丈が取れていますが、リン付きは各品種によって差が出ています。LA品種の抑制作はリン付きも草丈も良い状態です。アジアティック品種は、やはり草丈が低い品種が多く難しい試験となりました。

Oriental/OT varieties have good heights as a whole, but the bud counts differ between varieties.  LA's late forcing trial is showing good bud counts and stem heights.

For Asiatics, many varieties are short and the results were not so good in general.

また、9月下旬から10月上旬の台風や天候が荒れた影響もあり、中村農園の試験場でも例年より葉焼けが多く発生しています。

In addition, there are leafburns more than usual in our greenhouse maybe because of typhoons and other bad weather conditions from the end of September to early October. 

11月中旬からLAとOT、オリエンタルの早生品種の開花が始まります。切り花農家の皆様には切り花出荷や二作目の植え付けなどお忙しい期間であるとは思いますが、来年以降の作付けにも重要な情報が得られる試験となっております。

LA, OT, and early Oriental will start blooming from the mid November.  I believe that it will be the busy time for shipping and planting for the forcers, but we hope that you can visit us and see our trial as the information must be useful for your future plan.

平成最後のオランダ産 抑制試験 / The last trial in the Heisei era

オランダでは2018年オランダ産の収穫が始まりつつありますが、私たちの試験農場では、長期冷凍されていた2017年オランダ産の最終試験が進んでいます。今週からは、週替わりで社員がブログを書いてみたいと思います。

いつもお世話になっております。

すっかり肌寒くなり、気が付けば今年もあと２ヵ月ちょっとになりました。

アムロちゃんもあっと言う間に引退し、「平成最後の～」が使えるのも残りわずか。

なんだか、時の流れが年々速くなっているように感じる今日この頃です。

さて、つい最近植えたばかりと思っていた抑制試験も、ぐんぐん生育し、早い品種では今月から開花が始まります。６月の展示会（2017年オランダ産促成栽培）では定植日を調整し、同時開花を行いましたが、今回は定植日が同じです。

もうすぐ中生品種の分枝が終わります。

抑制試験では、品種の特性が本当によく分かります。

ゆりの球根は冷凍して保管するため、個人的にはこの試験栽培がもっとも重要だと思っています。

今回は４１４品目を栽培していますが、それぞれの生育の早さはもちろん、草丈やリン数の変化、葉焼けや奇形の有無が分かり始めてきました。やはり、同じ品種でも6月の促成栽培や9月の酷暑栽培の時とは違った印象を受けるものも多くあります。

品種によっては草丈もこんなに違います。

焼ける品種は、今年もしっかり焼けています。

6月はイマイチだった品種が急に良くなったり、その逆もあったりと、見どころは満載です。

期待の新品種がどのような結果になるのか。OTも良い品種が増えてきました。八重はひどく焼けた品種もあったので、今後の品種選択の参考になると思います。LA、スカシ、鉄砲はこれから分枝が始まります。

おおよその開花予想は以下の通りです。見学、大歓迎です。

抑制栽培は順次開花していくので長丁場ではありますが、まだまだ先だと思っていると、

あっと言う間に咲いて、散っていきます。

The harvest of 18NL crop has started in the Netherlands.

At the same time, we are testing 17NL crop (late forcing trial) on our test green-house now.

In this test, we planted 414 varieties at same time.

This test is very important to know the characteristic of long stored-bulbs.

We are able to learn characteristic of varieties in late forcing test.

Now, I started to check length, growth speed, buds count, leaf burn and more.

Some new OT’s look good. Some Doubles leaves were burn. There are good ones and bad ones.

How are the other new varieties ….

Even for the same varieties, they will give you different impression compared with “Lily fair June” and “heat resistance test”. I think that this will be a reference for your choice of varieties in the future.

ホットなオランダの光景 / The "hot" news from Holland

いつもお世話になっております。

オランダは10月10日ころから
10月にも関わらず20℃を超える日が続きました。
オランダ人の感覚からすれば、夏！

特に13日の日曜日は暑く、最高気温は25℃を超えていたようです。
ツーリング（バイクや自転車や、馬車も！？）を楽しむ方が多く、
写真のようにオープンカフェで、最後の夏を満喫していました。

In Holland, it's been over 20 degrees Celsius since October 10th even though it's supposed to be autumn and cooler.
For Dutch people, this temperature is summer!
Especially, Sunday of the 13th was very hot, and the maximum temperature was over 25 degrees C.
There were many people enjoying touring on motorbikes, bicycles, and even on horse wagons!  Also there were many who were spending relaxing "summer" time at open-air cafes outside like the photo below.






ロッテルダム近くの大きな川では、ヨットがたくさん見られました。
On the wide river near Rotterdam, there were many sailing boats.


南オランダの方では、紅葉が始まりつつありますが
寒さに当たってと言うよりは、夏の極度の乾燥の疲れが
今になって出てきているような感じでした。

In South Holland, trees have started to color,
but it seemed not because of the cool air of autumn,
but because of the stress from the extreme dryness of summer.



百合球根の畑の枯れ方も、栽培方法や品種によって全然違いました。
真ん中の黒々としたのがOTのラルゴ、右はORのシグナム。
10月前半は、枯れ方も肥大も活発な時期なので、1－2週間で大きく変わるそうです。

The dying of lily fields was very different depends on the growing management and varieties.
The black-green in the middle is OT-Largo, and the yellow/green at the right is Oriental-Signum.
Both dying and swelling are active in the first half of October, and I heard that the situation changes a lot in 1 or 2 weeks.


フランスで生産されている鉄砲ユリと一部のLAの収穫が始まったばかり。
球根生産者の予冷庫は準備万端で、気温が下がり収穫が本格化するのを待っています。

Harvesting of longiflorum varieties in France and some LA varieties has started.
Bulb growers have prepared their cooling rooms and now they are ready to go.  They are waiting for the temperature goes down and the harvesting starts widely.



スキポール空港近くのマクドナルド。
注文は白いタッチスクリーンで行い、カード決済。
後は待つだけで、店員さんが席までもってきてくれます。
私の日本での不動のメニュー「ビッグマックセットM」が
オランダでは7.5ユーロ(税込み）でした。
ちなみにポテト用のソースが数種類、別売りされています。

This photo is from Mc'Donald’s near Schiphol Airport.
The customers send their orders on the white touch screens at the right, and they can finish the payment with cards there.
They just wait sitting on the seats and the staffs bring their meals to the table.
The menu which I always take at Mc'Donald's, "Big Mac Set M" was 7.5 euro (including tax) in Holland.  Various types of fried potato sauce were available as option, by the way.

高知県内もようやく朝晩が涼しくなり、

いたるところに赤やクリーム色のひがん花が咲いています。

台風や地震など、災害が多かった夏でしたから、彼岸を迎え、秋の空気に変わり、落ち着いた環境になることを祈っています。

It's been cooler in morning and night in Kochi, and we see red and cream-colored cluster-amaryllises in many places.

This summer was a hard one with many natural disasters, so I hope that it will be a good autumn after Higan.

今年は、全国的に夏の気温が高かったと思いますが、7月植付けの酷暑試験は、多くが散り、終盤を迎えています。

常時、地温が27℃くらいの過酷な栽培でしたが、写真は草丈を確保できたトゥーレガ2年と、トゥーレガLF(フランス産)。どちらもリン付は5-6中心でした。

今後、比較試験区の上根の発根状態などを調査してみます

The temperature in summer was comparatively hot nationwide this year.  Our heat resistance trial which was planted in July is in the very last part and many of the lilies have finished.

It has been a hard situation for lilies as the soil temperature was about 27 degrees Celsius all the time, but some varieties showed good growth such as Tourega 2Y and French Tourega which had long stem lengths and bud counts of 5-6 (in the photo below).

We will check the condition of the upper roots of the comparative test varieties.

酷暑試験の鉄砲ユリと白オリエンタルを使って、高知市内の花屋さんが作ってくださったウェディングブーケです。

鉄砲ユリのブーケがお客様からのリクエストだったとか。

きっと、すばらしい披露宴だったことでしょう。

The wedding bouquet below was made by a flower shop in Kochi City.  Logiflorum and white Orientals from our heat resistance test were used in this art.

I heard that it was a request from the couple to use Logiflorum lilies.

I imagine that the wedding ceremony was beautiful.

さて、酷暑試験が終わると同時に…

もう17年オランダ産の抑制試験が始まりました。

オリエンタル・OTは9月11～12日定植でしたが、

このころから少し夜温が下がり、現在、地温は23℃となっています。

By the way, as soon as the heat resistance test finished, the late forcing trial of crop 2017NL started.

Oriental and OT were planted on September 11th and 12th.  The night temperature has been going down since then, and the soil temperature is about 23 degrees C now.

最近、お客様にかけていただく言葉No.1「暑いねえ！」です。

本当に、日々猛暑の高知の中村農園です。

皆様も、暑さにはご注意下さい。

"It's so hot, isn't it!" is the No.1 common phrase which the customers I see give to me recently.

It is really extremely hot in Kochi every day.

Please take care of yourselves not to become ill from the heat.

弊社試験ハウス前の桜の木でわめいていたセミです。

本当に、セミ達が夜行性でなくて良かったと思います。

This is a cicada chirping on a cherry tree in front of our test greenhouse.

I'm really happy that cicadas are not nocturnal.

先日、納品に出かけていて発見したゆり畑です。

かの岩崎弥太郎(あの三菱の創始者)の生家と銅像のすぐ隣にありました。

そう、安芸市ですね。

This is a lily garden which I saw on the way of delivering on the other day,

This is next to the home and statue of Yataro Iwasaki (the founder of Mitsubishi) in Aki City.

これらのユリは、花育活動の一環として、この地域の花卉部の方と小学生たちが、定植から手入れまでをされております。

路地で、荒天が続いた直後でしたが、立派に咲いておりましたし、ご覧の通り一斉開花にも成功しておりました。

These lilies are planted and taken care of by the local children and cut flower forcers in Aki City as one of the "Hanaiku" (flower education) activities.

Even though it's outdoor and the day was after many days of bad weather, these lilies were blooming beautifully.  Various varieties were planted to bloom at same time, and it seemed to be success.

そんな、暑さの中村農園では、酷暑試験の今季初の定植が行われておりました。

Meanwhile, in Nakamura Noen, the first planting for the heat resistance trial was done.

酷暑試験につきましては、8月の下旬頃から切り前や開花の状態がご覧いただけるものと思います。

今後も、試験の経過報告はさせていただく予定です。

急に梅雨らしく雨が降ったりしている中村農園in高知です。

After some days of sunny weather, we are having rain again in Kochi now.

サッカー日本代表も今夜Ｗ杯決勝トーナメント初戦です。

ロシアに続け大番狂わせ!!

Japan's national soccer team will play the first match in the final round of World Cup.
Hope that Japan will bring off a surprise win like Russia.

ついに今期初のヒノモトが到着しました。

 Finally, this year's first Hinomoto arrived.

早速、一部発送分の仕分けも…

We already had the first delivery on this first day.

そして、もうひとつのニュースは、サンダー君です。

サンダー君は、輸出会社バンデンボス社のウィレムヤンさんの息子さんです。

中村農園にて研修中です。

楽しく勉強してもらいたいと思います。

Another news is our new trainee, Mr. Sander van Graas.

He is a son of Mr. Willem-Jan van Graas from a Dutch exporter, Van den Bos.

He's just started studying in our company.

We hope that he will have good time in Kochi.
