10月下旬から開花が始まった17年オランダ産の試験栽培の開花も、残すは最晩生の品種のみとなりました。
今年は高温や台風の影響も受けながらの栽培でしたが、生育初期から県内外の多くの方に試験ハウスにお越しいただき、ありがとうございました。
Our trial of crop 2017NL which started to bloom in late October only remains the very late varieties.
This season was a hard year for lily forcers due to hard weather such as severe heat and typhoons.
We very much appreciate all the visitors from inside and outside of Kochi who visited our test greenhouse in spite of such difficult condition.
ハウス内は、ほぼ満開です。

最晩生品種の開花ももうすぐ
The very late varieties will also bloom soon.
試験ハウスでは、多い時は500近い品種の栽培を行いますが、その中にはほとんど流通せずに無くなってしまう品種も多くあります。
今回のような試験によって、少しでも多くの品種の良さを見つけて、ご紹介していけたらと思っています。
We test nearly 500 varieties when the number is big, and it includes some varieties which disappear without being sold in our market.
We hope to show you as many varieties as possible including such hidden varieties.
赤オリエンタルもきれいな品種がたくさんあります。

There are many beautiful red Oriental.

特に、この鮮やかな赤と白のコントラストがきれい。
The contrast of red and white is beautiful.
「ボンバスティック」は蕾も深紅。
The buds of "Bombastic" are already deep red.
17年オランダ産の試験も大詰めです。これからは、品種ごとの花持ちや花の散り方など、視点を変えて見てみると、また違った良さが見えてくると思います。
The trial of crop 2017NL is finishing soon. It should be interesting if you see the flowers' durability or how the flowers fall in this stage.
一方、となりの試験区では既に18年南半球産の試験栽培が進んでいます。
南半球産の球根もオランダ産の栽培と同様に同じ時期に定植していますので、順次開花していきます。もっとも早い品種は今月中旬頃には開花を迎え、晩生品種は来年2月中下旬ごろの開花予定です。
On the other hand, the trial of crop 2018SH is going at the next of 17NL.
In this trial, as well as crop 17NL, the bulbs were planted in the same period, so they bloom in order.
The earliest varieties will bloom in the mid December, and the late varieties will bloom in the middle or late February.
南半球産の試験は、比較の試験です。
同じ品種でもチリ産とニュージーランド産では違いがあり、どこが違うのか比較することができます。また、オランダ産では酷い葉焼けが出ていた品種が、南半球産を使った真冬の栽培では焼けてなかったり、その逆もあったりと、品種選択に直結する大切な比較もできます。
新しい品種も少しずつですが、増えてきており、見逃せません。
The trial of SH bulbs is a comparative study.
Chilean bulbs and New Zealand bulbs are different even in same varieties. Also, there are more discoveries which should be useful for your selection; for example, some varieties which showed bad leaf burns with Dutch bulbs don't show any symptoms with SH bulbs in winter.
You can't miss new varieties, either.
