In our test greenhouse, many middle-fast varieties and some late growing varieties are blooming now. You can see various varieties of different stages such as fast varieties which are nearly at the end and the buds' coloring of late varieties.
夏は毎年・・・
今年の夏も？全国的に35℃を超える暑い夏となり、その後もなかなか秋が訪れない厳しい年となりました。近年、このような環境下では障害の発生しやすいオリエンタルよりもOT-ハイブリッドを用いた夏対策が普及してきています。
弊社の酷暑試験では7月定植の栽培試験を行い、少しでも皆様に紹介できる品種を探し続けています。・・・なかなか、いい品種が見出せないのが現状です（涙）。
We had hot summer of over 35 degrees Celsius nationwide like other recent years this year, and the arrival of autumn was very late. In such severe environmental condition, OT varieties which are more strong against summer are used, while Oriental easily shows damages from the heat.
We plant bulbs in July for the heat resistant test to find good varieties for summer. The results are not satisfying in most cases, but we'll keep trying.
季節変わって・・・
北海道から順次季節が移り変わり高知県でもやっと冬の気配が訪れました。日照時間は減少していくものの気温も下がり、各産地、秋・冬の訪れとともに“本来の美しい姿”が見られるようになってきます。品種も夏のOT-ハイブリッドからオリエンタルの良さが引き立つ時期になっており、品種の幅もかなり広がります。
We finally feel a little bit of winter in Kochi now. The sunshine duration is becoming less, but it's becoming a good season to see lilies' "original beauty" as the temperature gets lower. While OT is stronger in summer, Oriental also starts to show good performance in autumn and winter, so more varieties are usable in this season compared to summer.
この時期は多くの品種が本来の個性・パフォーマンスを発揮していますが、今回は、その中から私の好きな品種をご紹介します。
We can see many good lilies now. I chose some varieties which I like from those.
【プライアーノ／Praiano】
ピンクのオリエンタル、プライアーノの特徴は何と言っても“ぷっくりとした、涙・しずく型のつぼみ”です。ユリはつぼみで活けられることが多いですが、プライアーノは花が咲く前のつぼみの状態も楽しんで頂けるのではないでしょうか？ さらに、咲いた花は直径27㎝と超特大！！ 今回の試験でも5本の指に入る大きさです。・・・にも関わらず、我が家の中で試飾してみても、主張しすぎず、周りと馴染んでしまうのは驚きです。色合いでしょうか？
<Praiano>
The biggest characteristic of "Praiano", pink Oriental, is its "round, tear drop-shaped" buds. Lilies are often arranged when they are not bloomed yet, but I believe that Praiano entertains you with un-bloomed buds as well. Another unique thing about this variety is the flower's size which becomes as big as 27cm. This is the 5 biggest flowers in this trial.
I took some home and placed them in a room. In spite of the big size, it doesn't distract the sight, and somehow it adapt the things around. I think that it's color is one of the reasons.
【オバダ／Ovada】
この時期、オバダも良くなってきました。この時期のオバダは発色も良く、本当に綺麗に可愛らしく咲いてくれます。程よい長さの花柄で花と花が重ならず、間に他の品目と合わせればオバダの良さがさらに引き立つのではないでしょうか？ カップ咲きでかつ花弁のしっとり感も他とはちょっと違います。
<Ovada>
Ovada shows good color and bloom beautifully in this season. The branch length is just perfect, and the flowers don't overlap each other. I think that the good points of Ovada becomes even more clear when you arrange it with other flowers. The cup-shaped flowers and moist petals are also it's characteristics.
【ペトロリア／Petrolia】
数年前、ボンバスティックが発表されて以降、濃いめの赤（黒赤）が注目されています。
従来の赤の品種とは異なり、ボンバスティックやペトロリアは絶妙な色合いの品種です。さらに、ペトロリアは草丈も取れ、花粉の色も花弁にマッチしています。抑制時期でこの出来なら、12月やクリスマスシーズンの花として仲間に入れてもらえないでしょうか？
<Petrolia>
Since "Bombastic" was released few years ago, dark red (black-red) varieties are getting attention. Not like other existing red varieties, the colors of Bombastic and Petrolia are unique and beautiful. In addition, Petolia has enough stem length, and the combination of the colors of pollen and petals is nice. It is a good variety for late forcing as well. Why don't you promote this as a flower for Christmas season?
