12月初旬にオランダに行ってまいりました。
お仕事の関係は、出張報告にてお伝えさせていただきますが
ブログでは、現地で撮影した球根以外の写真をご紹介いたします。

I visited Holland in early December.
I put some photos to show the atmosphere of Holland.
For details about the production situation, I will make another report.
今回のパートナーは井上君。

.まずは、オランダの昼食の1枚
トースティとトマトスープとコロッケ（肉）
最近はあまり寒くないオランダですが、
冷えたカラダには、暖かいトマトスープがおいしい。
The first photo is from a lunch I had in Holland.
Toast, tomato soup, and meat croquette.
It was not that cold in Holland when we visited there,
but the hot soup was very comfortable for my chilled body after checking fields.
続いて、ディナーの前菜の人気者、牛のカルパッチョ
最近のオランダの牛肉はかなり品質が高くなっていて
脂肪のない赤身肉で、とても柔らかく、お勧めです。
ステーキも”ミディアム”で結構、赤めで調理してくれます。
The next one is beef carpaccio which is the popular appetizer in dinner.
The quality of beef is becoming very high in Holland.
It was low fat red meat. The texture was very soft, and I recommend you to try this if you have a chance.
Beef steaks are usually served in "very red" medium as well in Holland.
クリスマス向けのデコレーション＠ホテルのロビー前
The photo below is the Christmas decoration in a hotel where we stayed.
オランダでは、12月5日のサンタクロースの誕生日イブに
子供たちがサンタさん（オランダ語で”シンタクラース”）から
プレゼントをもらえます。
この文化が海外ではクリスマスに広まったとも言われ、
靴の中のプレゼントはオランダが元祖なようです。
一般的なご家庭では、シンタクラースが終わってから
クリスマス用にツリーを飾るそうですが、
本物のもみの木を使うことがまだまだ多く、
曲がってない木を買ってきて、年始まで緑に維持するのが
お父さんの腕の見せ所になることも。
（商業施設では火事防止のため、人工ツリーになっています）
In Holland, children receive presents from Santa Claus ("Sinterklaas" in Holland) on the 5th of December which is the day before Santa's birthday. It is said that this Dutch culture spread in the world, and the origin of "a present in a shoe" is Holland.
In common homes, they display Christmas trees after "Sinterklaas".
Real fir trees are still used in Holland, and it is a big duty for fathers to get straight trees and keep them green until the beginning of the year. (Artificial trees are used in commercial buildings to prevent fires.)
最後に、オランダのお土産といえば
「ストロープワッフル」=シロップ入りワッフル。
ホットコーヒーのカップの上に乗せ、暖めて食べたりもします。
最近のは、中のシロップの風味があっさりしていて、
万人に食べやすい味になってきている気がします。
The last one is a typical souvenir of Holland, "stroop wafels" (waffle with syrup).
Some people warm waffles on cups of hot coffee before eating.
The syrup inside is not too rich recently and I feel that it's becoming enjoyable for more people.
さいごの最後に、
当社の試験農場では、「18年オランダ産抑制試験」が満開を迎え、
八重系オリエンタルと、LA・すかしが見ごろとなっています。
The very last one is from "late forcing trial of 2018NL crop" in our test greenhouse.
The flowers in full bloom now, and it's the best timing to see double Orientals and LA/Asiatics.
又、10月～11月定植の19年南半球産試験も生育が進んできており
今年はCH産、NZ産共に生育がよさそうな感じです。

Both Chile and NZ lilies are growing well this year.
